COMPLAINT 1 FRANCE TEAM - 11:18 CETPilot Jeremy Perone, number 02 on the ‘moon’ circuit, receives a FEX penalty.
Article 23.2 of the Local Regulations: "It is the responsibility of the pilot to ensure that a timing gate is crossed as briefed to activate the timing system, as no other form of evidence of a pilot’s elapsed time can be accepted."At the general briefing, you clearly specified that the photo finish camera uses the top of the pylon as a high reference point (voice recording available) and then moves horizontally across the gates. The vertical position must take the top of one of the pylons as a reference point. As you can see in the attachment to this email, the pilot's altitude is lower than the top of any of the pylons. In the image, you will find several green lines, each corresponding to the maximum height of each pylon. The blue line is the horizon reference to show you that the green lines are parallel to the horizon line.As you can see, the feet of pilot Jeremy Penone are well below the top of each pylon, which means that our French pilot should be scored.
In my opinion, when the camera changes angle horizontally, a few degrees change vertically and lower the maximum height of the photo finish.Thank you in advance for your understanding,Jean-Emile OULHA Team Leader of the French teamANSWER 11:32 CETPlease note that the daily camera setup is approved by the International Jury and installed under their supervision. The system is calibrated uniformly for all pilots for each task.Under the Local Regulations (LR), references or footage from any other cameras cannot be accepted as a valid basis for measurement.Accordingly, I’m sorry, but I cannot uphold your complaint.Best Regards
Kamil
